There is no guaranteed way to eliminate all threats to critical infrastructure. Yet there are ways to drastically minimize them.
ATRiM uses crime prevention science and our unique risk assessment matrix to minimize threats to infrastructure.
protecting critical infrastructure with science
we specialize in anti-terrorism, crime risks, and internal threats
ATRiM is the first anti-terror, critical infrastructure program to employ the science of crime prevention. We create physical, operational, and community-based responses to potential terror threats targeting critical infrastructures. We provide on-site training for assembling the audit team and deploying our unique ATRiM safety audit methodology to identify critical infrastructure risks. Using our years of experience, innovative software, and expertise from industry leaders, professionals and vendors, ATRiM creates responses to the identified risks of your critical infrastructure. Using these responses, ATRiM can provide a detailed report on how to minimize terror threats targeting your critical infrastructures.
Our program is designed for use by city managers, police leaders, property owners, facility managers, security officials and prevention specialists. ATRiM focuses on identifying the environmental, physical and security risks at a site. ATRiM is not used for casualty, contagious or business interruption modeling, nor is it for underwriting to calculate potential losses from attack.

FAQ about ATRiM:
WHY DID WE CREATE THE ATRIM MODEL?
Although there is no guaranteed way to eliminate risk, there are ways to minimize it using the most advanced methodologies available. The ATRiM, Anti-Terror Risk Infrastructure Matrix, is a new risk model that incorporates methods from security and crime prevention through environmental design and prevention science.
ATRIM IS AIMED AT COMPLEX RISKS
When it comes to critical infrastructures, there are two kinds of risk - simple and complex. Till now, simple risk has been part of standard security practice - more guards, cameras, and a hardened perimeter. Tackling simple risk addresses the consequences of one or two terror attack strategies on a single target - bombing the front a building by parking a car bomb nearby.
Complex risk is entirely another matter. Few standard security practices have evolved to address it.
Complex risk means that attack strategies now include more sophisticated methods using multiple attacks on numerous targets in a site. That is why we created ATRiM.
ATRIM TARGETS ALL FORMS OF CRITICAL INFRASTRUCTURE
Some of the infrastructure that we help to protect include but are not limited to: banks and financial institutions, public health and medical facilities, chemical and industrial plants, water treatment and transmission facilities, electrical transmission and power generating plants, communication infrastructures such as television and radio stations, Information technology facilities, transportation equipment and property.
